If only I believed in everything you believe.
And knew the exact same things you know.
And came from the same cultural background as you.
And had the same life experiences as you did.
I’d be doing things exactly the way you do it.
But the truth is I don’t.
Genuine empathy requires emotional depth and imagination to be able to put yourself in the shoes of the other person. That’s difficult but is almost always worth it.
